Kevin Conroy

is a management development specialist, qualified as an engineer, manager, psychologist and trained as a teacher. I have worked in U.K., Germany, Swaziland, South Africa, U.S. and Ireland as a teacher, chemical engineer, senior line manager in multinationals, executive coach and organisational psychologist.

My Career Continuation programme is based on extensive research using evidence-based strategies, techniques and practices. I am out to help people turn jobs into careers and careers into life breakthroughs. This is done by customising each programme to the client’s needs. Some clients need to redirect their career, others to accelerate it.  My Ph.D. research “Living in High Performance Conversations for Intentional Change”[1] informs my approach which has resulted in a record of clients who surprised themselves at the talents they discovered, the barriers they overcame. Some made a lot of money. Most became energised to perform at a level that makes a real difference to their organisations and their own lives. They all made real choices.

A founding member of the British Psychological Society’s Special Group in Coaching Psychology, my experience includes several years with a leading Outplacement company and as its Director Executive Coaching. I am qualified in organisational psychology and in applying psychometrics such as the Individual Talent Survey (ITS). I am also accredited as a coach in the Emotional Competency Inventory developed by Daniel Goleman, Lominger’s Leadership Competencies and the Management Research Group’s (MRG) Leadership Effectiveness Analysis. Certified in applying the technology of generative leadership, I have a track record as a product, process and service innovator as a General Manager and Managing Director in Ireland and as Director Technical Operations in California.

I am particularly experienced in developing competencies in multi-way communications in the workplace. The I-Speak Your Language® model helps develop skill in speaking to others from where they are i.e. so that they can listen and relate to what you say. This is a basis for influencing, not only at interviews, both also as a leader-manager.

In the vanguard of the “third wave” of executive coaching, corporate clients include Oracle, Abbot Vascular Devices, Honeywell, Intel, NETg, Zurich Capital Markets, Diageo, Unilever, Elan, Sherry Fitzgerald, OrcRe, Colm McEvoy Auctioneers, the Department of Health, The Rotunda Hospital, Becton Dickinson and Hibernian Insurance.  My private clients come from a wide variety of occupations. While most are at senior level, there is a growing group of people ambitious to make their mark in their organisations, public and private; a few have branched out into their own businesses.

I lecture part-time in Technology Management & Innovation in ITT Dublin, and also guest-lecture in Managing Complexity. In my spare time I may be found in my studio painting, walking on a mountain or kayaking on sea or down-river.
